A Brothers
Tribute
Polliwog
"Paul touched many of us during
his thirty years as a son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend.
Born mid-spring in Berlin, Vermont, Paul
was energetic from the start. As a young boy he would play
in the grass and go for rides on his fathers shoulders.
As an older brother, Paul was a natural, annoying Craig with
hair pulling, or by blocking the television. But Paul and
his family had extra burdens to weather from very early on,
and as time unfolded, these burdens evolved for the family.
As these physical bonds grew, so did our love for Paul, and
while his body endured great unrest, we know his Spirit knows
love, and that he is loved.
One hundred years of contemplation will
never reconcile our deepest questions. In this world, there
is much that seems senseless, unfair, even at times, cruel.
And yet we make the strength to come to terms, each of us
in our own way, hoping that life never stops sharing its inherent
beauty. As we recognize the end of Pauls physical journey,
and the end of his pain, we can look to find some comfort
in the hopes that Pauls real journey is just beginning.
Much like the song of a bird, Paul now travels
with the wind.
We will miss you, and never forget you."
