Richard with the puppies

Richard Matthews

by Lisa Matthews

My husband Richard Matthews died May 18th 2002. We had three children together. All three children have autism. Richard age 11, David age 10, and Brian age 7. My husband and family have supported autism research since 1988. Richard allowed some research organizations into our home to conduct tests to determine the severity of our children's autism. Both my husband and I participated in some of these studies. My husband died suddenly on a Saturday morning. He told me if anything ever happened to him to do what I could to help our children and others.

Richard was born March 25, 1967 and died May 18, 2002. He had one brother William Bradley Matthews, age 50.
